Biography
Alexandra Standing MA BMus (Hons) DipABRSM
Alex is an active award-winning pianist and chamber musician. She recently graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied postgraduate collaborative piano with James Baillieu and Christopher Glynn.
Alex won various awards and prizes at the Royal Academy of Music, including the Marjorie Thomas Art of Song award, the Nielsen Prize for French Song and highly commended in the Gerhardt award for Lieder.
Collaborations with new composers and groups such as the BBC Singers has led to broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. Alex has performed in venues ranging from the Wigmore Hall to Latitude Festival.
Alex is based in London and enjoys a varied performing and teaching career. She regularly freelances as a pianist with ensembles including the BBC Singers and performs regularly.
Alex also works part-time as a Pianist and Piano Adviser at Coach House Pianos.
